The Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) office recently welcomed a delegation from Panama’s national highway authority to discuss recent transportation advancements made in District Six.
The group initially visited the District in 2016 to learn about the program’s operations and best practices. Back then, they were in the preliminary stages of creating a more robust Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) program in their country and were seeking general information. They scheduled this special follow up trip seeking specific guidance with procurement, consultant contract management and infrastructure and device maintenance.
Several District Six staff updated them about the state of the TSM&O program since their last visit. They went onto a question and answer session about FDOT’s Request for Proposal process and finished with a field visit to see several ITS device sites.
District Six regularly hosts meeting for agencies from all over the world in an effort to promote the advancement of the TSM&O mission on a global scale. To schedule a tour, please click here.
