Miami Lakes Mayor Recognizes District Six Road Ranger

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six is recognizing Road Ranger Daniel Mayorga for his commitment to helping motorists following a formal commendation from Town of Miami Lakes Mayor Josh Dieguez.

 

Mr. Mayorga has been a part of the District Six Road Ranger Program since March 2017. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to the traveling public.

 

On May 19, 2026, Mr. Mayorga responded to a disabled vehicle with a flat tire that was occupied by Mayor Dieguez. The Road Ranger quickly assessed the situation, made sure the work area was safe, and changed the tire, allowing the mayor to safely continue his journey.  Following the incident, Mayor Dieguez submitted a letter of commendation to the Department recognizing his outstanding service.

 

Mayor Dieguez commended Mr. Mayorga for going beyond the normal scope of his duties and providing compassionate assistance during a stressful situation. In his letter, the mayor highlighted his quick response, calm demeanor, and willingness to help, noting the meaningful difference his actions made.

 

Mr. Mayorga says helping motorists remains one of his favorite parts of being a Road Ranger. His dedication to assisting people in need reflects the Road Ranger Program’s mission to provide timely assistance and improve safety for motorists throughout South Florida.

 

In recognition of his outstanding service, FDOT District Six Secretary Daniel Iglesias will honor Mr. Mayorga with a Certificate of Recognition at the upcoming District Six Town Hall Meeting in October 2026. This award highlights the important role Road Rangers play in supporting motorists and enhancing roadway safety throughout South Florida
