Miami-Dade County TIM Team Hosts 95 Corridor Meeting

The FDOT District Six Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) Office hosted a Miami-Dade County Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Team – 95 Corridor meeting on February 17, 2026. This TIM meeting covers the eastern corridors of Miami-Dade County, including I-95, 95 Express, I-195/Julia Tuttle Causeway, I-395, and the MacArthur Causeway. The meeting was held at the PortMiami Tunnel operations center. The TIM Team moves the location of these meetings to highlight partner facilities and encourage greater on-site engagement with attendees. The initiative also allows TIM members to gain a behind-the-scenes perspective of partner operations while rotating meeting locations to help increase participation and attendance.

The meeting began with a briefing from representatives from the PortMiami Tunnel, who provided an overview of their recent activities and operational updates. This was followed by a presentation from FDOT District Six, which highlighted upcoming traffic management plans for major special events, including Spring Break and the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They also shared the latest statistics on managed traffic events, updates on the Rapid Incident Scene Clearance (RISC) Program, and information on incident responder trainings scheduled throughout the year. Public Information Specialists representing the Golden Glades Interchange Enhancement Project and the I-395/S.R. 836/I-95 Construction Projects discussed progress, construction schedules, lane closures, and traffic pattern changes. The City of Miami Beach presented their Traffic Management Center, which inaugurated its operations last year at the District Six SunGuide Transportation Management Center. The event concluded with a tour of the PortMiami Tunnel facilities, where participants had the opportunity to view the operations center and learn about the floodgate system designed to help mitigate flooding during periods of heavy rainfall.

The District Six TSM&O Office hosts TIM meetings in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties to promote communication and coordination between first responders in their respective regions. For more information about the TIM Program, please visit SunGuide.info.
