District Six TSM&O Program Engineer Wins National Transportation Award

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) honored FDOT’s Javier Rodriguez, P.E. with the prestigious Council Impact Award this summer.

 

This national award is given to an esteemed leader who has made outstanding contributions to the transportation industry and the communities they serve. Mr. Rodriguez was chosen for this award by ITE’s Council Leadership Team that is comprised of a panel of qualified judges from the public and private sectors.

 

Mr. Rodriguez was honored for his role in improving the transportation landscape in southeast Florida and the impact he has made on the industry at large. ITE praised his visionary leadership for creating the framework for the District Six TSM&O Program Office and growing it into one of the most recognized programs in the country. They noted his ability for creating comprehensive solutions to complex traffic issues and detailed his trajectory of implementing transformative projects that have become national best practices in the areas of managed lanes, incident management, traveler information, and other TSM&O strategies. In addition to his professional achievements, the award also recognized Mr. Rodriguez’s commitment to advancing the TSM&O Program mission by serving as a thought leader in various industry conferences, supporting mentorship opportunities, and establishing an internship program with local universities.
