
FDOT District Six Staff Appointed to New Position: Sabina Henriquez
The Florida Department of Transportation District Six Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) Office is happy to announce that Ms. Sabina Henriquez was appointed to a new position as an FMS/AMS Specialist III in April 2026.
Ms. Henriquez joined FDOT more than two years ago to support the TSM&O Arterials Section, where she oversaw the Monroe County Traffic Signal Operations and Maintenance efforts. She was responsible for managing vendor contracts, partner agency coordination, and corridor performance goals for State Road (S.R.) 5/ U.S. 1. She also supported several major initiatives, including the launch of the Keys Connecting Overseas to Advance Safe Travel (Keys COAST) Project, which introduced connected vehicle strategies to the region.
In her new role, Ms. Henriquez will manage the Traffic Signal Maintenance and Compensation Agreement (TSMCA) for the TSM&O Arterials Section. She will serve as FDOT’s primary point of contact with Miami-Dade County and support key initiatives, including signal retiming contracts and the continued expansion of intelligent transportation systems along major corridors.
Ms. Henriquez values the professional experience she has gained at FDOT District Six and remains committed to serving the traveling public of South Florida. She recently earned her Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) credential, strengthening her knowledge in regulatory compliance, fiscal procedures, and risk management.
