District Six Hosts Holiday Party and Commemorates TMC Anniversary with Special Video
The FDOT District Six Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) Office recently hosted its annual holiday luncheon to celebrate the season and commemorate the 20th anniversary of the SunGuide Transportation Management Center (TMC).
The event had a full line up of activities to honor the occasion. TSM&O Program Engineer, Javier Rodriguez, kicked off the event by thanking the team for their contributions to the program throughout the year. He commended the Road Rangers in the field, the traffic operators in the control room, maintenance technicians, administrators, community outreach specialists, FDOT, and all consultant staff. Mr. Rodriguez also announced that 2024 marked a momentous milestone for the TMC. He noted the growth experienced in the past 20 years and highlighted the major projects that changed the transportation landscape of South Florida, such as 95 Express, Ramp Signaling, Keys COAST, and many others. He then presented award plaques from ITS Florida to Mr. Leland DeBooy for serving 25 years as a Road Ranger Service Patrol and to the District Six SunGuide TMC for its 20-year anniversary. Consultant Project Manager, Donald Avery, then said a few words detailing the journey of the center and screened a special-edition video that was created to commemorate the anniversary.
The luncheon was attended by more than 120 guests from FDOT and consulting firms. It provided a wonderful opportunity for all team members to reconnect and celebrate the holiday season. To see the anniversary video, click here.
